Hello Ohio! This is CharleeSmiles and I’d like to introduce a young woman but the name of Ms. Courtney Travis. I got the opportunity to meet her at an event Moss Da Beast was hosting and performing at in Madison, Alabama. I approached her with caution as I will do with anyone I meet for the first time. She was very soft-spoken as I began to speak and that made me feel comfortable to continue. I introduced myself then mentioned the fact that I seen she had a camera from across the room. So, I needed to know who she was immediately! Upon us exchanging information I learned that Ms. Courtney not only blogs but, she will be launching her own Magazine called The Valley Mix! Filled with entertainment news, Alabama community events, fashion and a great deal more! See, Ms. Courtney desires to be more than just a local town, city, or state magazine. She’s aiming to be global and bringing all kinds of wonderful, encouraging, informative news to everyone’s finger tips. Her motivation is definitely pure and contagious as Spring fever after a hard, harsh, winter! And, I wish Ms. Courtney the best in her endeavors.

Courtney Travis is from Honolulu, HI and is currently residing in Madison, AL. She grew up in a single parent home for most of her life with one sibling, an older brother. When her parent were together, her family traveled and lived across the united states due to a father who was active in the military. She’s always been intrigued by what the world has to offer; and loves educating people about what she knows. After graduating high school in 2006, Courtney began her college career at the University of Alabama in Tuscaloosa with intentions of becoming a Chemical Engineer. Over the years, she has changes her major more than several times and transferred between a few schools, and experienced some interesting events as a young adult. She woke up one day and realized you much she loved language arts, writing, and theatre. Her mom is an avid purchaser of celebrity gossip magazines, therefore the thought of creating her own magazine was bound to happen. Voila! The Valley Mix Magazine began. It started out as being a local magazine based in the Tennessee Valley Area involving: fashion, events, culture, community, and home; but the idea of expanding to other local horizons appeals to larger audiences. Courtney is also currently pursuing a bachelor’s degree in Secondary Education, English, Language Arts from the University of Alabama in Huntsville and has started a local cleaning business SerMama’s Sque@ky Cleaning & Services. As Editor-in-Chief of The Valley Mix she hopes to open our eyes to the various unique talents that live around the corner from you and share it with the rest of the world!
